FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Church address says Fairmount, but my GPS isn't taking me to Fairmount?

The Fairmount Post Office delivers our mail, but we are in the countryside actually closer to Swayzee and Point Isabel than Fairmount. We are about 10 miles from Marion, 13 miles from Elwood and 20 from Kokomo. We are in beautiful, rural Grant County.

How do people dress for church?

Most people dress casual or business casual. The dressier pictures here are mostly special Sundays like Easter.

What happens in a church service?

We gather, sing praise to God in grand old hymns and more modern worship songs. We pray, read Scripture, celebrate Holy Communion and hear a message from the pastor helping us understand the Bible and follow Jesus. Church services are usually approximately an hour. If you want to see a sample of church services, our church Facebook page has some.

Can I get inside and around in a wheelchair, scooter or walker?

Wheelchairs enter the fellowship hall through either of the ramped entrances, usually the one facing 600 W . There is a hallway connecting to the sanctuary from the hall.

Are "broken" people welcome and wanted?

Yes! Jesus came for the Least, Last and Lost as much or more than the First, Finest and Found! Jones Chapel is warm and welcoming. Life can be messy and not the way we wish it was. Our pastor was divorced. Some of our leaders have broken pasts. God forgives, Jesus saves and the Spirit transforms. The people we once were do not have to be the people we always must be.

If I am at a service where Holy Communion is celebrated, can I receive it if I am not a member at Jones Chapel.

Christ our Lord invites to His table all who earnestly seek Him and His forgiveness and salvation and seek to live in love with one another. It is the table of the Lord Jesus and not the table of Jones Chapel. It is between you and God whether or not you receive communion. Do not feel obligated or pressured to receive, but if you are made right with God through His Son Jesus you are invited to receive.
