ABOUT JONES CHAPEL
Jones Chapel, the building, is a classic steepled white wood frame country church. Jones Chapel, the congregation is 109 years old worshipping in the same sanctuary hand built by its first members. Jones Chapel began to reach people for Jesus back when horses and buggies were common. We were one of the first to welcome people with AIDS back when no one understood it and AIDS was terrifying. We are simple congregation -- no fog machine or "show" just real people --some of us broken-- being loved by God, learning to follow Jesus and learning to love one another.
The "real" Jones Chapel isn't the building -- it is the people who worship God together. Jones Chapel is Bob, retired businessman, who grew up there and has been a part of Jones Chapel forever. His grandparents gave the land where the church sits. Jones Chapel is Lily, a Huntington University student who drives down each Sunday to worship and serve. She planned and led a youth camping trip for 11 last summer. Jones Chapel is Diane, our newest (lay) elder called to serve God here especially by praying for and serving God's people. Jones Chapel is Bryson, a teen who gave his life to Jesus in baptism not too many months back. Jones Chapel is Tay, age 9, who loves to hear the Bible stories and ask questions. Jones Chapel is Logan in 8th grade, new here still exploring faith. Jones Chapel has a place for you....
